Massachusetts Climate Change Assessment

The MA Climate Change Assessment is a statewide analysis detailing how Massachusetts people, environments, and infrastructure may be affected by climate change and related hazards through the end of the century. This assessment will directly inform the first five-year update to the State Hazard Mitigation and Climate Adaptation Plan (SHMCAP) that will be released in Fall 2023.

Everyone Can Take Climate Action

The Healey-Driscoll Administration launched a statewide media campaign to raise awareness about climate change and promote the variety of available resources to take individual climate action. The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) conducted research to assess Massachusetts residents' perceptions, motivators, and barriers, translating that work into a campaign that centers on the theme “Climate Action is for All of Us”. The media campaign will direct to resources hosted on www.mass.gov/ClimateAction.

The campaign provides information on how to participate in state initiatives such as energy efficiency, weatherization, electric vehicle adoption, and residential solar programs. Organized around the people and places of Massachusetts, it provides educational resources for integrating climate action into people’s homes, their commutes, and their communities.
