[ARCHIVED] Join South Hadley volunteers this weekend in the annual Source to Sea Clean Up

Each year the Connecticut River Conservancy sponsors the annual Source to Sea Clean Up. This year South Hadley will be participating both Friday, Sept. 22 and Saturday, Sept. 23 in the Falls. Volunteer if you can!

Friday, September 22 - 8:30-11:30 

There will be 14 high school students that will walk with their teacher from the school to join volunteers from the UMass Five College Credit Union at Beachgrounds Park on Main St. This location is across from Town Hall, 116 Main St. The entrance to the parking lot is between the basketball court and the playing fields. There will be coffee, snacks, and water at the parking lot.

Saturday, September 23 - 8:30-11:30  

The Falls Neighborhood Association is taking the lead on holding a Saturday event this year. This group will clean up below the bridge and along the river near Lower Riverside Park. Meet at the parking lot on Main St at Lower Riverside Park, across from River's Edge Barbershop and Iona's Kitchen.

If you will be volunteering ~ please wear long pants and sleeves to protect yourself from poison ivy and ticks. Wear sturdy shoes and weather appropriate clothing. Bring your own water, bug spray, and sunscreen. The Conservation Department will provide gloves, grabbers, and trash bags for both recycling and trash.
