A portion of Route 116/Newton St will be closed to through traffic for up to six days while the culvert beneath the road is fully replaced. The culvert is being replaced near Black Stevens Pond by South Hadley High School. The closure is anticipated to start the weekend of Sept. 16 but the final date will be determined by MassDOT. The town will receive an update from MassDOT Sept. 13 and relay the actual timeline to residents. MassDOT will put up advanced signage when a date is finalized.
