With extremely high temperatures forecasted for this week in South Hadley, it will be important to stay cool.
The South Hadley Public Library, located at 2 Canal Street, and the Senior Center, located at 45 Dayton Street, are both designated cooling shelters for those who need to seek relief from the heat. The library is open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and the Senior Center is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On Saturday, the library is open from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Taking a splash through the town's spray parks is also a fun way for the whole family to beat the heat. Spray parks are open daily from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at The Beachgrounds Park and Buttery Brook Park.
