[ARCHIVED] Cultural Council invites public to virtual meeting for new event Celebration of Arts and Culture

SHCC

The South Hadley Cultural Council (SHCC) will host a Zoom meeting on Wednesday, July 13 at 6 p.m. for all interested in learning about the planning, support, implementation, logistics, and individual and organizational participation necessary for this new town-wide event planned for the spring of 2023.

Thanks to initial support granted by the South Hadley Selectboard through American Rescue Plan Act funds made available in response to economic loss during the COVID-19 pandemic, the SHCC seeks to organize and oversee a comprehensive ten-day town wide Celebration of Arts and Culture. This event will highlight both local and regional talent in the disciplines of music, dance, visual arts, and more. It will also create opportunities for partnerships with local businesses to host events, performances, and activities, which will significantly increase economic patronage during and following the celebration and raise awareness beyond South Hadley of all that our town has to offer.

The SHCC invites members of the South Hadley community to contribute to the planning of this event in several ways. First, on a Steering Committee that will lead the way in continuing the event planning already in progress. Second, on a Celebration Committee to manage the details and logistics of this important event during the celebration itself. Third, to join in as performers, artists, and business patrons.

Interested residents, performers, artists, and members of the business community are strongly encouraged to attend this virtual meeting.
