[ARCHIVED] Small Business Improvement Grants Available to South Hadley Businesses

money - ideas

The Town of South Hadley is offering matching grants to local businesses and commercial property  owners for façade improvements and outdoor furniture to activate the streetscape within the South Hadley  Falls and the Village Commons commercial districts.

South Hadley Falls Façade Improvement Program

The South Hadley Falls Façade Improvement Program provides commercial business and property  owners within South Hadley Falls with financial support for the enhancement of commercial building  facades through reimbursable grants of up to $10,000. Total funding available is $50,000. Applications  are due June 17, 2022. To learn more and complete an application, visit

A façade improvement program is an important economic development tool that encourages property and  business owners to improve their building storefronts. Exterior improvements to buildings in a  commercial area can lead to revitalization of neglected or older commercial districts and help small  businesses improve visibility and curb appeal and attract more customers.

Activating Outdoor Spaces in the Village Commons Area

The Town of South Hadley is also offering reimbursable grants of up to $2,500 to commercial businesses and property owners with the Village Commons area for outdoor furniture and games to activate the  streetscape within this commercial district. The Village Commons area includes the Village Commons  shopping and residential development and extends outward to adjacent businesses and restaurants near the  intersection of Route 47 and 116. The purpose of this program is to attract visitors to the many businesses  and restaurants within this district and provide enhanced outdoor amenities.
