Due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, emerging evidence of new variants being more transmissible than previous strains of the virus that may cause more severe illness, evidence demonstrating even fully vaccinated individuals can spread the virus to others, and in an effort to protect public health, the Town of South Hadley is instituting a mask policy in all town buildings, effective Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 8 a.m. This policy has been developed in cooperation with Health Director Sharon Hart and Police Chief Jennifer Gundersen.

All visitors, vendors, delivery personnel, or others entering any public building in South Hadley are required to wear a face covering while in a public building.

Any person seeking an exemption should apply at least three business days in advance of their visit in writing to the  South Hadley Town Administrator's Office. Email Town Administrator Michael Sullivan at

Non-compliance may result in removal from a public building and may lead to a trespass order being put in place against the individual for all public buildings to protect the health and safety of employees and/or other citizens.  These measures should not be regarded as punitive but necessary to protect the public health.

The Town of South Hadley continues to offer curbside service, drop-off options, online service and delivery when appropriate upon request. Use the staff directory to contact those offices by phone or email. Town hall will continue to offer services digitally, by phone and snail mail. Residents can use InvoiceCloud and Viewpoint Cloud to pay bills, request copies of certificates, and obtain or renew various permits digitally from home.
