SOUTH HADLEY – The South Hadley Town Hall building will reopen to public access Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting July 6.
Throughout the pandemic, municipal town hall staff have worked within the building providing all services to South Hadley residents digitally, by phone, snail mail or socially distanced in the parking lot. Many systems, such as InvoiceCloud and Viewpoint Cloud, allow residents to pay bills, request copies of certificates, and obtain or renew various permits digitally.
Some offices have begun in-person meetings by request. On July 6, select offices that provide the bulk of direct customer interactions will be available to the public without appointment Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. These are the assessor, clerk, collector, inspection services and recreation offices. It is encouraged residents call ahead. All other departments, such as administration, health, human resources and planning/conservation, will remain available only by scheduled appointment.
Town hall will continue to offer services digitally, by phone and snail mail.
The transfer station will continue to require scheduled appointments in its effort to add much needed controls resulting from the significant changes and spiraling costs associated with trash and recycling in 2019 and 2020. It will retain its new five-day operational schedule, opposed to the former two-day schedule.
All of these policies and services are under continuous review and will evolve. The municipality appreciates resident patience, constructive input, cooperation and understanding as staff try to provide cost effective and reliable service for the whole of South Hadley.
