Curbside pickup of Christmas trees this season will be swapped for an additional spring yard waste pick-up.
While there will be no curbside tree pickup, residents have two options:
- Bring trees to the transfer station NO RESERVATION REQUIRED Jan 8 & 9 and Jan. 15 & 16 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Dispose of your tree during the spring curbside yard waste collection in March/April if it is less than 40 pounds and cut to 4 feet or less
When bringing your tree to the transfer station in January or including it with the March/April curbside yard waste collection, please remove tinsel, ornaments and metal. Please don’t bring wreaths (they contain metal) or trees wrapped in plastic bags.
Dates for the spring yard waste collection with an additional pick-up are TBD.
The compost area and transfer station are regularly open Tuesday - Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. for South Hadley residents with a valid 2021 permit sticker and reservation. Prepayment is required for disposal of green bags, recycling and larger items at the transfer station.
