[ARCHIVED] South Hadley Dog Park opens for public use

Residents gather in the new dog park

The dog days of summer may have come to a close, but the South Hadley Dog Park is now open.

The park is located off of Mulligan Drive and can accommodate a small number of vehicles in its parking lot. Users must follow any directions posted at the park. They also must wear masks, maintain physical distance of at least six feet from other users, and abide by COVID-19 safety guidelines established by the state.

Funded mostly through a $218,000 grant from the Stanton Foundation, with an additional $30,000 approved by Town Meeting Members in 2018, the dog park is to be maintained by volunteers from the Friends of the South Hadley Dog Park group. The non-profit group continues to seek donations for the upkeep and maintenance of the park.
