South Hadley Town Clerk, Carlene C. Hamlin, has announced that nomination papers will be available for any voter wishing to be on the ballot for the April 12, 2016 Town Election beginning December 7th, 2015. The deadline to return nomination papers for Candidates running for a Major Office is Tuesday, February 23, 2016. Candidates running for a seat as a Representative Town Meeting Member need to return nomination papers or re-election notification cards by Tuesday, February 16, 2016.
The following offices will appear on the ballot:
Town Moderator - 1 position - one year term.
Selectboard -1 position - three year term.
School Committee – 1 position - three year term.
Board of Assessor -1 position - three year term.
Board of Health - l position - three year term.
Municipal Light Board -2 positions- three year term.
Municipal Light Board -1 position- two year term.
Municipal Light Board – 1 position – one year term.
Housing Authority - 1 position - five year term.
Planning Board - 1 position - five year term.
Trustee for Free Public Library - 3 positions - three year term.
Councilor, Hampshire Council of Governments – 2 positions – two year term.
Town Meeting Member Precinct A, B, C, D & E – 8 positions each precinct – 3 year term.
Town Meeting Member Precinct C - 1 position – 2 year term.
Town Meeting Member Precinct D - 1 position – 2 year term.
Town Meeting Member Precinct E - 1 position – 2 year term.
