South Hadley Public Health Director / Emergency Management Director Sharon Hart is ware of and closely monitoring reports from state and federal agencies as well as regional health partners in respect to Coronavirus Disease 2019 or COVID-19.  Testing has begun at the Massachusetts State Public Health Laboratory for COVID-19, in accordance with guidance from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. While currently the threat remains low in Massachusetts, we will continue to monitor this rapidly evolving situation and encourage citizens to practice good hygiene.

The same precautions to help prevent colds and the flu can help protect against other respiratory viruses:

*  WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN WITH SOAP AND WARM WATER FOR AT LEAST 20 SECONDS

*  COVER YOUR COUGHS AND SNEEZES

*  STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK
