[ARCHIVED] Bring unwanted meds to the SHPD for Prescription Drug Take-Back Day Oct. 26

Nearly-empty bottles of prescription medicine often take up space in bathroom cabinets. Their contents can’t be flushed down toilets or simply tossed in the trash.

The most safe and correct way to get rid of these unwanted medications is through drug take-back days or bringing unwanted meds to permanent drop box locations.

To assist residents in safely disposing of unwanted medication, the South Hadley Police Department is participating in a prescription drug take-back day on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as part of National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. Residents are welcome to bring unwanted prescription drugs to the drop box in the police station free of charge and with no questions asked.

The South Hadley Police Department is also home to a permanent drop box for year-round collection.
