Highlights of this year's Stroll include:
Meet the 100+ Pounds Challenge! There is no charge for participation, but if possible, please bring a non-perishable food donation for the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Food Pantry and help break last year’s record of 90 lbs!
Guest Interpreters: Four well-known, local Guest Interpreters will be stationed at four of the rest/bench areas; strollers can stop at their leisure to chat about CT River history (Leo Labonte); area flora (Tom Clark, Director/Curator, MHC Botanic Garden); bird song/sightings (Dan Ziomek, "Birdsongs" Radio Program, 93.9 The River); and outdoor Tai Chi (Denise Barry, Yang Style Tai Chi Instructor).
Location & Parking: River-To-Range Loop Trail, Ferry Street. The trail is part of the Bachelor Brook-Stony Brook Conservation Area and is adjacent to the Mount Holyoke College boathouse at 240 Ferry Street. Parking is available on-site, including the circular MHC boathouse driveway, but please consider car-pooling to maximize spaces.
Wear weather-appropriate clothing and safe footwear.
Post-walk, please stay to socialize with provided treats by the South Hadley High School Culinary Program and Big Y's generous water donation.
IMPORTANT: Non-enjoyable or hazardous weather/conditions will force a cancellation. For a bad weather cancellation for Oct. 20th, check the Town website (southhadley.org) for a Community News notice. In case of cancellation on Oct. 20th, the event will be rescheduled for Sunday, 10/27 at 1:00 PM.
