[ARCHIVED] Friends of SH Dog Park seeks donations, reorganizes board

The Friends of South Hadley Dog Park is pleased to report on the status of the proposed dog park. Berkshire Design Group, which was awarded the design grant, is finishing the design for submission to the Stanton Foundation for approval.

In other news, the Friends’ board of directors has reorganized and elected Brenda Mathieu as president, Janet Shea as treasurer, and Brenda Mathieu as clerk.

The committee expresses its sincere gratitude to retiring president Bob Berwick and board member Sue Kelsey for their tremendous effort and enthusiasm.

Fundraising efforts have been successful with $10,000 raised during the first three months from local dog owners and businesses. The committee is very encouraged and will continue to pursue added areas of fundraising in the coming months.

The next scheduled meeting of the committee is Wednesday, May 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the Trustees Conference Room at the South Hadley Public Library.  New members are always welcome.  For more information or questions, e-mail the committee at
