[ARCHIVED] Bike-Walk Committee: Bynan Conservation Area Trek Jan. 20

The approximately 60-minute trek is roughly 1.5 miles in length. Be prepared for snowy and/or icy trail conditions, deep or not, or for anything else Mother Nature sees fit to give us in January.  The chosen trail route loop is relatively flat with only a few minor ascents/descents.  It’s the personal choice of all participants to bring any beneficial walking poles and wear crampons and snowshoes.

Meet at 12:45 pm at the dirt/gravel parking lot (large, pull-off access area on New Ludlow Rd) adjacent to Fairway Wholesale Distribution, 654 New Ludlow Road, South Hadley.  Participants may also park in Fairway’s parking lot.  To reach, take Rt. 33 SOUTH, turn left onto Old Lyman Rd, then turn left onto New Ludlow Rd.  Fairway’s will be on the left with the access parking lot immediately after Fairway’s (this access parking lot entrance is also off New Ludlow Rd).   Wear weather-appropriate clothing and safe footwear, and bring water and optional snacks.

Post-trek, please join BWC members at the Drunken Rabbit Brewery (749A New Ludlow Rd) just down the street for some fun socializing.

Non-enjoyable or hazardous inclement weather/conditions will force a cancellation; if that should appear necessary, please check www.southhadley.org for a Community News notification.
