[ARCHIVED] Bike-Walk Committee holds trek Nov. 18 on MHC trails

Come discover the serenity of wooded paths, the grand vistas seen from its fields, the many moods of Stony Brook and the ongoing work to extend the Project Stream boardwalk.  All in time to work off in advance the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday dinner!

The approximately 90-min. trek is about 3 miles in length throughout the campus. Be prepared for wet conditions, ascents/descents that range from minor to moderately steep, stairs, and a variety of even/uneven walking surfaces (crushed gravel, leaf-lined, dirt, pavement).  Wear weather-appropriate clothing and safe footwear, and bring water.  Walking poles are optional but recommended for those who enjoy using them. Anyone wishing to do only a portion of the trek’s planned route is welcome to participate.

Meet at 12:45 pm at the entrance of the Kendall Sports and Dance Complex.  Park in the Complex’s parking lot accessed via Dunlap Place off Rt. 116/Woodbridge St. (the Post Office and Fire District #2 are on the opposite side of the street).

Post-trek, please join BWC members for light refreshments and socializing!

Non-enjoyable or hazardous inclement weather/conditions will force a cancellation; if that should appear necessary, please check the Town’s website (www.southhadley.org) for a Community News notification.
