Public forum to discuss future locations of housing in South Hadley scheduled for Nov. 14
SOUTH HADLEY -The Town of South Hadley and the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission invite residents of South Hadley to attend a public forum on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at Plains Elementary School on 00 Lyman Street.
The meeting will explore the possible locations for future residential growth and the advantages or disadvantages associated with them. It will also include a recap of feedback received at two public forums held in October. Residents are encouraged to come and share their thoughts!
This meeting is part of a bigger effort to gather feedback on possible solutions that could help South Hadley meet the goals outlined in its 2016 Housing Production Plan. At two meetings held in October, residents were invited to learn more about the housing needs in South Hadley and the six possible zoning solutions outlined in the 2016 Housing Plan. These included Chapter 40R Smart Growth Districts, Chapter 40R Starter Home Zoning Districts, Inclusionary Zoning, zoning that would allow accessory dwelling units or “granny flats,” zoning that would allow infill development, and zoning that would allow the conversion of underutilized commercial space to residential uses.
Additional information, including the slides and handouts from these initial meetings, can be found at bit.ly/southhadleyhousing.
