[ARCHIVED] Spring Bird Talk & Walk with the Conservation Commission

Northern Parula creative commons

Spring migration bird walk at the River to Range Trail

Step outside. The forests and fields are full of birds, some are here to nest and others just stopping by during their migrations further north. South Hadley has many great conservation areas to witness the wonder of spring migration.

Please join the South Hadley Conservation Commission, which is hosting a spring migration bird walk at the River to Range Trail lead by Bill DeLuca, a Conservation Commission member and Senior Migration Ecologist with the National Audubon Society. The walk will begin in the trailhead parking lot off Ferry Street on Saturday, May 18th at 9 AM. Come dressed for the weather as we take about an hour or two to walk the relatively flat and smooth 1-mile-long loop trail. There are benches to rest along the trail. We will have free coffee and donuts in the parking lot prior to our walk. No prior birding experience is needed, and we will have some binoculars to share. No dogs, please.

On Thursday, May 16th at 7PM, we will also host a zoom info session to discuss what you might expect on your walk and talk a bit about the general ecology of the location. Please register to receive the Zoom link to log into the meeting: https://bit.ly/SpringBirdTalk.
