There is currently an opening on the Insurance Advisory Committee (IAC) for the retiree representative, as outlined in MGL Chapter 32B, Section 3. Applicants must be retirees of the Town of South Hadley, through either the Hampshire County Retirement System or the Massachusetts Teachers Retirement System. Preference will be given to those with knowledge of health insurance, Medicare, employee benefits, healthcare, and/or issues affecting retirees and seniors. To apply, please use this link. About the Insurance Advisory Committee
The Insurance Advisory Committee (IAC) is established pursuant to Massachusetts General Law 32B, Section 3. The committee shall provide recommendations on group health insurance plans to Town Administration and the Selectboard and provide information to and recommendations from municipal employees and retirees on group health plan benefits.
Pursuant to MGL ch32b s3, the IAC shall consist of 8 members, 7 persons to be appointed to membership on such committee by organizations of the employees affected, and 1 person who shall be a retiree of a governmental unit who shall be appointed by the appropriate public authority.
