With extremely high temperatures forecasted for this week in South Hadley, it will be important to stay cool.
The South Hadley Public Library, located at 2 Canal Street, and the Senior Center, located at 45 Dayton Street, are both designated cooling shelters for those who need to seek relief from the heat. See the library's hours here. The Senior Center is open M-F from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Fire districts 1 and 2 are open as cooling shelters as well.
Taking a splash through the town's spray parks is also a fun way for the whole family to beat the heat. Spray parks will be open extended hours from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. at The Beachgrounds Park and Buttery Brook Park.
