The Town of South Hadley’s Recreation Department seeks 5-8 enthusiastic and responsible individuals to staff the part-time/seasonal Summer Youth Sports Programs. Staff help lead and support youth baseball, softball, and/or basketball programs designed to teach skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun and positive environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with organizing and leading youth sports activities, drills, and games
Help supervise participants and ensure a safe, positive environment
Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development
Support coaches and program coordinators with daily activities and setup
Serve as a positive role model for children

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

The following requirements may be substituted by an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job:

Must be at least 14 years of age or older
Experience playing or participating in baseball, softball, basketball, or multiple listed sports
Enjoy working with children and youth
Responsible, dependable, and able to work as part of a team
Successful candidates will be required to pass background check, including but not limited to CORI/SORI

Status and Compensation:

This is a part-time, seasonal position. Programs run weekdays from 8:30am to 12:30pm between June 29 through July 30, 2026. Hourly rate is $15.00, and not eligible for benefits.
