About the Historical Commission

The Commission shall, upon request or on its own initiative, provide the Planning Board, Conservation Commission, and other municipal boards and committees with an assessment as to the impact of proposed developments on places of historical and/or archaeological significance.

  1. Duties. The Historical Commission shall perform duties as enumerated in MGL c. 40, § 8D. The Commission shall, upon request or on its own initiative, provide the Planning Board, Conservation Commission, and other municipal boards and committees with an assessment as to the impact of proposed developments on places of historical and/or archaeological significance.
  2. Membership and term. The Historical Commission shall consist of seven members, each of whom shall be appointed for a term of three years.
