South Hadley TRIAD & S.A.L.T. Council were established in 1994 to provide programs that meet the safety needs of South Hadley Elders.
What is TRIAD? TRIAD is a community policing initiative between seniors, law enforcement and service providers to increase safety through education and crime prevention. It’s goals are to enhance delivery of law enforcement services to older persons, to reduce criminal activity that targets seniors, to alleviate senior’s fears of victimization, to help build senior citizens confidence and to improve their quality of life.
What is S.A.L.T.? TRIAD on the community level is implemented by a S.A.L.T. Council composed of Seniors, Police, Sheriff’s Office, District Attorney’s Office, Council on Aging, Adult Protective Services, Fire Department and Representatives of other civic and community groups. The S.A.L.T. Council determines the needs of the community’s seniors as it relates to crime prevention and safety awareness and coordinates activities to meet those needs.
